Conservation Storyteller

We're seeking an exceptional storyteller to lead the narrative for our Lake Illawarra Coastal Management Program. The successful candidate will develop compelling content that highlights the importance of preserving our lake's natural values and preparing our communities for climate change.

This is a part-time position working 14 hours per week, based in our office with flexibility scheduling available Monday to Friday.

  • Create targeted communications plans aligned with environmental priorities
  • Develop engaging content for web, social media, and print that brings the program to life
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive community participation
  • Support media relations and contribute to broader communications efforts
  • Analyse engagement data and prepare reports to inform strategy and decision-making

About You

You're a skilled communicator with a passion for the environment and a talent for turning complex ideas into compelling stories. You bring:

  • Experience in communications, engagement, or environmental storytelling
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, crafting clear messages that resonate with diverse audiences
  • Digital content creation expertise, including photography and video production
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration across teams and building meaningful relationships
  • Strategic thinking and project management abilities
  • A current driver's licence and a sound understanding of WHS principles
