Job Overview

The Assistant Director position involves leading examination activities, project management and investigation methodologies to ensure strategic oversight and successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead examination activities at places where children and young people are deprived of their liberty.
  • Prepare high-level advice, support and guidance to relevant authorities.
  • Support advisory efforts directed at relevant authorities and conduct educational activities to raise awareness about the treatment of children and young people deprived of their liberty.
  • Oversee and drive follow-up on practice improvement activities across organisations.
  • Deliver timely expert guidance to organisations on matters concerning the prevention of torture and ill-treatment.
Requirements
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment).

  • Disciplinary action in previous employment.
  • Identification check.
Desirable Requirements

A current driver's licence is desirable.
