Job Title: Welding Quality Control SpecialistJob Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welding Quality Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance, outage, and project activities, you will be responsible for conducting on-site and off-site inspections, including welding, hydrostatic testing, and subcontractor works.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive inspection and testing processes to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations
  • Review and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Field Installation Check Sheets (FICs), and quality documentation to maintain high-quality deliverables
  • Liaise with engineering and reliability teams to ensure welding activities meet compliance and technical standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and submit Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) for client review and approval, maintaining certification records
  • Maintain and manage quality records in SAP and SharePoint systems, ensuring accurate and timely data entry
  • Perform welder qualification testing and maintain certification records, upholding the highest standards of quality and safety
  • Support training and development programs, coaching tradespeople on QA/QC best practices to enhance overall performance and efficiency
Requirements:
  • Proven track record in QA/QC roles within power stations, mining, offshore/onshore pipelines, and heavy industrial projects
  • Extensive experience with CMMS systems (SAP), welding procedure development, and welder qualification, showcasing expertise in these areas
  • Strong understanding of Australian and international welding standards and NDT requirements, with a focus on implementing best practices
  • Demonstrated leadership during major outages and shutdowns, leveraging skills to drive results-oriented outcomes
Qualifications & Certifications:
  • Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade, demonstrating a solid foundation in technical skills
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification, highlighting proficiency in quality management systems
  • High Risk Work Licence (Forklift, EWP), underscoring ability to work safely in complex environments
  • Confined Space & Working at Heights (Nationally Recognised) certifications, emphasizing adaptability and flexibility
  • Construction Induction Card (White/Red), signifying commitment to occupational health and safety
