Welding Inspector Job

This is a Quality Assurance Welding Inspector position that involves conducting QA/QC inspections on-site and off-site, including welding, hydrostatic testing, and subcontractor works.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality control inspections on-site and off-site to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Review and implement inspection plans, check sheets, and quality documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Liaise with engineering and reliability teams to ensure welding activities meet technical specifications.
  • Identify and submit appropriate welding procedure specifications for client review and approval.
  • Maintain and manage quality records in software systems.
  • Perform welder qualification testing and maintain certification records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and coach tradespeople on quality control best practices.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record in quality assurance roles within heavy industrial projects.
  • Extensive experience with CMMS systems, welding procedure development, and welder qualification.
  • Strong understanding of international welding standards and NDT requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership during major outages and shutdowns.
Qualifications & Certifications:
  • Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor
  • High Risk Work Licence (Forklift, EWP)
  • Confined Space & Working at Heights (Nationally Recognised)
  • Construction Induction Card
