Job Description

Job Title: Primary School Head of Student Wellbeing

Reports to: Principal

Location: Redeemer Lutheran College, Biloela

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $95,000 - $121,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support in student wellbeing, behaviour education, and relational management to primary teaching and support staff.
  • Advocate for students with staff and manage referred student behaviour issues as they arise.
  • Communicate with parents and staff in accordance with the school's relational management flowchart.
  • Refer to and work with the principal to manage significant behaviour and wellbeing issues in accordance with the school's relational management flowchart.
  • Provide staff with updates and professional development as required to ensure a Restorative Practices approach to behaviour education.
  • Provide coaching/mentoring of early career teachers through regular meetings to set and review professional goals and improve teacher practice/pedagogy.
  • Develop professional, caring relationships with students and staff while being part of a positive, focused learning environment.
  • Model best-practice in pedagogy according to the RLCB Pedagogical Framework.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers to celebrate achievements and improve pedagogy.
  • Attend regular Leadership meetings and report on students of concern.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in pastoral care, behaviour education, and relational management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Knowledge of Restorative Practices and the RLCB Pedagogical Framework.
  • Ability to provide coaching/mentoring to early career teachers.
