Job Overview

We have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Somerton, VIC.

">

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining all plant equipment safely and efficiently.

">

This is an afternoon shift position.

">

Main Responsibilities

">
  • ">
  • Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on the site's fixed plant & equipment.">
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks are conducted safely, and in compliance with any quality and/or environmental regulatory requirements.">
  • Actively participate and assist in equipment upgrades and installation.">
  • Recommend improvements to eliminate repeat defects.">
  • Consult and coordinate with other site employees.">
  • Participate in Toolbox Talks, actively taking part to resolve operational and HSEQ issues.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • ">
  • A Cert 3 - Engineering trade qualification in either Mechanical, Fabrication, Tool Making, or equivalent.">
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance role in a similar industry.">
  • Understanding of safety & quality systems and procedures.">
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.">
  • Sound problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.">
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.">
  • Be self-motivated and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.">
  • Forklift Licence - must have.">
  • Current licenses / tickets including working at heights, confined space, will be highly regarded.">
  • MIG and arc welding experience preferred.">
