Scientific Research Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scientist to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting tests, analyses, and measurements within R&D laboratory facilities to evaluate green iron technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and conduct tests, analyses, and measurements within R&D laboratory facilities
  • Follow operating procedures and safety protocols
  • Support activity risk assessments and create a safe working environment
  • Use various laboratory-based techniques to support team members performing qualitative and quantitative analysis and characterisation of samples, raw materials, reagents, and products
  • Ensure ongoing cleanliness and maintenance of laboratory instruments
  • Data collection and recording and documentation of activities to facilitate progress tracking
  • Support handovers between shifts

Required Skills and Qualifications:

A background in industrial chemistry, mineral processing, electrochemistry, or materials science is preferred. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., materials science, electrochemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, or similar) is required. Research experience desirable. Experience handling hazardous materials in a laboratory environment essential.
