Air Force Pharmacists play a unique role as both logisticians and clinicians. This involves health logistics, planning, and administration, alongside traditional pharmacy practice elements within community and hospital settings.

As integral members of the Defence health continuum, Air Force Pharmacists enjoy diverse employment opportunities both in Australia and overseas in support of ADF operations.

Duties may encompass a mix of health logistics and clinical responsibilities. Clinical Duties:

  • Working within a Defence Health Facility, your role as the clinical pharmacist includes dispensing medications and managing pharmaceutical accounts.

Health Logistics Duties:

  • Ordering and stock control
  • Policy management
  • Health equipment management
  • Transport of medical equipment and pharmaceutical accounts

You are expected to take on a leadership role managing and leading a health logistics team and providing advice to commanders and higher command.

Air Force Pharmacists also contribute significantly to the Royal Australian Air Force Specialist Reserve (RAAFSR), which offers a range of health services complementing and supplementing those maintained in the Permanent Air Force (PAF).

Our estimate for this position is around AU$120,000 per year, considering factors such as location and industry standards.
