Site Installation Lead

This role is for a suitably qualified and experienced Installation Site Leader to oversee the construction process.

You will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day site installation planning, coordination, and execution of WTG installation activities, adhering to legal requirements, construction codes, and safety regulations.

  • Manage material coordination of WTG components, ensure availability of tools and subcontractor's staff.
  • Implement site-specific quality control plans, meeting general Vestas quality systems with subcontractors.
  • Rigging, unloading, loading, and preparation activities at site must be managed effectively.
  • Perform initial inventory of received goods and materials (tools, site parts, consumables) and handover to subcontractor. Ensure tools are in good working order with current calibration certificates.
  • Final inventory of equipment and parts after completion of site works must be performed.
  • Collaborate with transport and sub-contractors on project delivery schedule.
  • Update project plan status and provide input.
  • Daily supervision and progression of installation activities by external resources, ensuring fulfillment of project execution (health, safety, quality, and time) and contractual obligations by subcontractor.
  • Inspect and preserve WTG components, maintain related reports.
  • Ensure installation compliance with Vestas installation manual and technical specifications.
  • Conduct 'page-turn' with sub-contractors.
  • Final walk down of Turbines.
  • Responsible for non-conformance reports and implementing necessary actions to resolve issues.
  • Prepare as-built documentation.
  • Achieve installation rate as per project schedule through preparation, rigging, and installation activities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Electrical or mechanical trade certificate
  • Technical diploma, degree, or relevant qualification related to engineering, construction, or similar.

Key Competencies

  • Craneage/heavy lifting experience including understanding of lift studies and planning and executing work methodologies (for mobile cranes).
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement methodology
  • Proven leadership experience

  • Good communication skills
