About the Role:This is a permanent ongoing opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to lead our occupational therapy team in providing high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with trauma and orthopaedic conditions.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy, with experience in leading teams and managing clinical caseloads. They will be responsible for developing and implementing rehabilitation programs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
About the Team:Our occupational therapy team at Ward 5West is committed to delivering patient-centered care, with a focus on early rehabilitation and return to daily activities. We work closely with nursing and medical teams to provide a comprehensive service to patients on the acute ward.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the occupational therapy team in providing high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with trauma and orthopaedic conditions.
- Develop and implement rehabilitation programs, including return to daily activities and complex discharge planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide a comprehensive service to patients on the acute ward.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including the development and implementation of new programs and services.
- Postgraduate qualification in occupational therapy or a related field.
- Full registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- Member of OT Australia (or eligible for membership).
- Current Victorian Driver's License (unrestricted).
- Current Working with Children's Check.
- Minimum 7 years' clinical experience in occupational therapy.
- Demonstrated best practice in patient assessment and intervention, particularly in the areas of rehabilitation and complex discharge planning.
- Experience in leadership of a team, to motivate and inspire others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to relate effectively to people at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead evidence-based quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated skills in clinical supervision and teaching.
- Demonstrated participation in professional development relevant to the position.
- Established skills in organisation, planning and priority setting.
