The Role

We seek a VET Coordinator to teach and undertake normal duties of a teacher while using management methods and technologies to carry out leadership tasks. This includes monitoring teaching and learning, leading curriculum implementation, programming, supporting staff understanding and implementation, managing student behaviour, managing relief staff, and working collaboratively to develop and achieve the school's annual improvement plan.

Key Responsibilities

2. Lead by example by setting and modelling excellent standards of teaching and working with staff to provide an optimal learning environment for students to achieve excellence.">
3. Lead and support the implementation of CECG's Catalyst Program and High Impact Teaching Practices in the school through active engagement in professional learning, reading, conversations, and support processes.">
4. Oversee the development of a dynamic curriculum in line with national and state requirements, and whole school goals.">
5. Work with staff to incorporate new developments in teaching and learning.">
6. Ensure courses cater for a range of individual needs and learning styles and work with teachers to meet the identified learning needs of students, modifying curriculum and assessment where appropriate.">
7. Lead staff in developing and using appropriate ICT in the classroom to enhance Learning.">
8. Develop an individual professional learning plan and participate in appropriate professional development activities.">
9. Target, develop, and implement relevant professional development for staff and assist teachers in developing their professional learning plans.">
10. Develop effective relationships with members of the community – students, staff, and parents.">
11. Work with staff to ensure that parents are given consistent opportunities to participate as real partners in the education of their children.">
12. Provide prompt follow-up with parents, students, and other staff members on issues that emerge for each student.">
13. Evaluate courses or units regularly and make appropriate modifications.">

Specific VET Duties

1. ">
2. Attend VET network meetings and events within both the local and broader community to enhance knowledge and relationships pertaining to Vocational Education.">
3. Oversee the VET program and ensure core outcomes and regulations are being met at the highest possible standard.">
4. Liaise with our CE RTO to ensure all VET requirements at the College level are as required.">
5. Ensure appropriate documentation is up to date and records kept.">
6. Ensure all VET regulations and requirements are adhered to, particularly in relation to assessment, teacher currency, registers, and work placement.">
7. Provide assistance to VET teachers in relation to aXcelerate, manage aXcelerate, and produce and send aXcelerate reports in line with reporting timeframes.">
8. Liaise with the AP Curriculum in matters pertaining to VET.">
9. Aptly manage the VET budget.">
10. Conduct workplace visits where necessary and report back to the Executive.">
11. Identify and investigate possible future VET opportunities and staffing issues and succession planning.">
12. Network with Moruya TAFE regarding access to TAFE for students with special learning needs or who are at risk of dropping out of school.">
13. Manage RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) and credit transfer processes.">
14. Manage SBAT and Industry Based Learning.">
15. Manage TVET.">
16. Participate in the planning and implementation of VET facilities as required.">
17. Makes recommendations with regard to the improvement of VET facilities and equipment.">
18. Assist in monitoring maintenance requirements for VET facilities.">
19. Engage in Professional Learning relating to the area of VET.">

Qualifications

• ">
• Completed TAE (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment)">
• Experience teaching VET subjects is preferable">
• Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching.">
• Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and/or Working with Children's Check (WWCC) registrations.">
• Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) registration and/or NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation.">

• A comprehensive understanding of Catalyst initiatives and High Impact Teaching Practices and the need to provide appropriate support and feedback to teaching staff or the skills and experience to develop their knowledge in this area.">
• The capacity to be a proactive member of a professional learning community complying with legal, administrative, and professional requirements.">
• Classroom practices and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments for all students, including meeting a variety of learning needs.">
• A thorough knowledge of the Australian Curriculum with the ability to organise, select, and design content for effective teaching and learning within the classroom and across the school.">
• A high level of organisational and communication skills.">
• A capacity to coordinate a teaching team effectively, supervise staff across different subject areas, promote their own and the department's professional development, and work with staff to effect change.">
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including high-level mediation and conflict resolution skills, superior interpersonal skills including the ability to build community, liaise effectively with relevant members of the school community, and outside agencies.">
• The ability to exercise sound judgment, including dealing with confidential matters.">

Salary Range:

$94,000 - $112,000 per year

Plus $14,000 per year NSW Coordinator 2 Allowance plus superannuation

This salary is determined based on years of teaching service
