
Children's Welfare Manager

As a professional in the field of children's welfare, you will work under the supervision of a designated manager to ensure the needs of children, young people, and their families are identified, safeguarded, and monitored in accordance with statutory guidance and local service policy.
Key Responsibilities:- Promote the welfare and safeguarding of children, young people, and their families in Knowsley.
- Assist and deputise in the absence of the Team Manager to ensure effective delivery of services.
- Support the making of key decisions in respect of children in accordance with legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies.
- Ensure assessments and planning for children and young people actively promote the participation and engagement of all relevant agencies, the child/young person, and their family.
- Maintain case records to a high standard and produce reports in accordance with Service guidance/policy and procedure.
- Identify, meet, and regularly review the diverse needs of children, young people, and their families.
- Participate in developmental activities and promote improvement of service or the use of resources.
- Deputise or assist the Team Manager in the chairing of operational case management meetings.
- Support the Team Manager in the allocation of work within the team.
- Undertake specific responsibilities for key service areas as agreed with the Team Manager.
- Monitor performance and standards, represent the team or Service at internal or multi-agency forums, and provide supervision to social workers in the team.
- Contribute to the work of the Children's Social Care management team and support the service Quality Assurance programme.
- Develop and review Policy and Procedures in relation to legislation, statutory guidance, and good practice standards.
- Fulfill the statutory duties of the Council and meet requirements identified in Knowsley's progression policy.
