Job Title: Children's Welfare Manager

As a professional in the field of children's welfare, you will work under the supervision of a designated manager to ensure the needs of children, young people, and their families are identified, safeguarded, and monitored in accordance with statutory guidance and local service policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Promote the welfare and safeguarding of children, young people, and their families in Knowsley.
  2. Assist and deputise in the absence of the Team Manager to ensure effective delivery of services.
  3. Support the making of key decisions in respect of children in accordance with legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies.
  4. Ensure assessments and planning for children and young people actively promote the participation and engagement of all relevant agencies, the child/young person, and their family.
  5. Maintain case records to a high standard and produce reports in accordance with Service guidance/policy and procedure.
  6. Identify, meet, and regularly review the diverse needs of children, young people, and their families.
  7. Participate in developmental activities and promote improvement of service or the use of resources.
  8. Deputise or assist the Team Manager in the chairing of operational case management meetings.
  9. Support the Team Manager in the allocation of work within the team.
  10. Undertake specific responsibilities for key service areas as agreed with the Team Manager.
  11. Monitor performance and standards, represent the team or Service at internal or multi-agency forums, and provide supervision to social workers in the team.
  12. Contribute to the work of the Children's Social Care management team and support the service Quality Assurance programme.
  13. Develop and review Policy and Procedures in relation to legislation, statutory guidance, and good practice standards.
  14. Fulfill the statutory duties of the Council and meet requirements identified in Knowsley's progression policy.
