About the Role:

The Australian Defence Force is seeking a highly skilled Financial Management Specialist to join our team. As an Accountant (Finance Officer/RAAPC Officer), you will play a pivotal role in providing financial technical advice to the Army, ensuring compliance to financial policy and supervising the collection of resource and financial management information for further analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial management advice to commanders in the area of financial management of Public Moneys
  • Oversee the preparation of budgets, financial statements, cash flow analysis, accrual accounting, costings and financial analysis
  • Manage the development and implementation of financial management Systems
  • Deploy as a Financial Adviser on Exercises and United Nations and other overseas military operations
  • Coordinate the training and development of personnel for employment in Field Cash Offices
  • Provide financial advice and assistance to units in the areas of Non Public Moneys accounting, including liaison and training
  • Manage the audit of Non Public Moneys Accounts and the conduct of fraud investigations
  • Provide financial advice and assistance to units and members in the areas of pay and allowances
