Job Opportunity

This role involves assisting with the administration and compliance of indirect taxes (GST, Payroll tax, PAYG and FBT) for a large, complex organisation.

Maintenance of records to support monitoring and evaluating franchisee businesses is also required.

  • Assistance with GST compliance for a group and various joint venture investments including BAS, IAS and PAYG is essential.
  • Preparation of FBT returns for the group and maintenance of processes and checklists ensuring compliance with FBT legislation is critical.
  • Maintenance of accounting and tax records to support office in monitoring and evaluating franchisee business, including liaison with external Tax Agents of Franchisees, to assist with their compliance activities.
  • Reconciliation of BAS payments and refunds for reports of franchised complexes and liaison with Administration Managers to recommend resolutions for any discrepancies.
  • Maintenance and registration of Australian Business Numbers for all members of the group.
  • Assistance with providing ad-hoc indirect tax advice, including GST implications affecting new business initiatives, system upgrades, and new and proposed transactions.
  • Reporting and reconciliation of PAYG accounts, analysis of payroll reports received from external payroll bureau, and performance of monthly payroll tax calculations and annual reconciliations.
  • Assistance in ensuring Indirect Tax policies and procedures align with Tax Framework.
  • Assistance with ATO and State Revenue reviews related to GST and payroll taxes.
  • Liaison with ATO as required.
  • Assistance to financial reporting team during peak seasons by preparation of work papers for consolidated financial statements and note disclosures.
  • Staying informed on current indirect tax related news, including legislative changes and regulatory statements.
