Role Overview
The Regional Maintenance Manager (off-road) is tasked with overseeing the workshop operations for the maintenance and repair of the company's transportation fleet. This includes the development of a service maintenance and preventative maintenance strategy, ensuring its effective implementation to minimize disruptions to fleet operations and client services. Additionally, the Regional Maintenance Manager ensures adherence to the company's procurement policies, procedures, and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Oversee adherence to customer requirements, quality assurance, and documentation protocols.
- Lead the formulation and execution of the Regional Business Plan.
- Provide leadership and growth opportunities for line managers and superintendents.
- Manage regional operating costs, including budget development and performance target achievement.
- Support future regional initiatives by identifying opportunities and designing operational execution plans.
- Promote other divisions of Qube (Qube Logistics, Qube Ports) when viable opportunities arise.
- Engage professionally with clients, regulatory bodies, and suppliers to enhance Qube Bulk's reputation.
- Deliver timely and precise data input and reporting to the Director regarding regional operational performance and business growth.
- Oversee the performance management process for operational staff, focusing on best practices for site managers and superintendents.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive knowledge of the trucking, bulk haulage, and port sectors, with a strong understanding of mobile fleet and related equipment.
- At least 5 years of experience in managing and developing personnel, preferably in a ports, logistics, or heavy industry context.
- Diploma in Business, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse groups.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Capable of working independently with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Flexible and adaptable to thrive in a challenging work environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a small team setting.
