Field Service Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team in Victoria. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues and resolving breakdowns in the field or at our Truganina facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fault Finding & Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex issues and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently.
  • Scheduled Maintenance & Servicing: Perform routine checks and services to maintain port-based materials handling equipment in optimal condition.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Utilize mechanical expertise to tackle diverse challenges in hydraulics, diesel engines, and more.
  • On-Site Support: Deliver high-quality service at customer sites, minimizing downtime and ensuring operations run smoothly.
  • Collaborative Projects: Work with your team on large overhauls and new equipment commissions.

Requirements:

  • Heavy Diesel Mechanic or HD Fitter Experience: Strong background in the Heavy Equipment industry (transport, construction, agricultural, or mining).
  • Mechanical Aptitude & Diagnostics: Familiarity with servicing, diagnostics, hydraulics, and ability to perform physically demanding roles.
  • Safety Mindset & Communication: Commitment to best-practice safety measures, along with strong communication skills.
  • Valid Driver Licence & Trade Qualification: Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, or similar.
  • Full Working Rights in Australia & Health Clearance: Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
