About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical & Surgical Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a safe and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Clinical Leadership: You will be responsible for leading a team of healthcare professionals and providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Monitor Patient Vitals: You will be responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs and reporting any adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
  • Education and Support: You will be responsible for educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
  • Quality Improvement: You will be responsible for leading quality improvement initiatives to deliver desired outcomes and improve patient care.
  • Discharge Planning: You will be responsible for collaborating with the healthcare team to develop discharge plans for patients.

Our hospital is a private hospital service in the Northern Territory, providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery services. We attract patients from across the greater Northern Territory, Western Australia, remote Aboriginal communities, and even offshore.

About You
  • Current AHPRA Registration: You must be currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Previous Experience: You must have previous surgical/acute medical and rehabilitation experience of 2 years or more.
  • Demonstrated Professional Development: You must have demonstrated a commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
  • Teamwork and Communication: You must be able to work effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
