Job Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Projects and Construction team. This role plays a critical part in the design, construction, and ongoing maintenance of gas infrastructure assets.

The successful candidate will ensure that our assets are safe, compliant, and built for long-term performance.

This position contributes directly to the integrity and reliability of AS2885 and AS4645 Asset Class while supporting commercial and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of gas infrastructure projects from preliminary design to commissioning
  • Develop and review mechanical designs to ensure compliance with relevant codes such as AS2885 and AS4041
  • Prepare and review technical documents including scopes of work, datasheets, construction work packs, ITPs, and commissioning documentation
  • Provide site-based engineering support during construction and commissioning phases to resolve issues, clarify design intent, and ensure quality
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, project managers, field teams, and contractors to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions safely and on schedule
  • Contribute to HAZOPs, constructability reviews, risk assessments, and lessons learned sessions
  • Assist in ensuring asset information is accurately captured and handed over into operational systems following project completion
Requirements

You must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher
  • Registration as a Certified or Registered Professional Engineer (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience delivering engineering solutions in construction, commissioning, or operations environments
  • Familiarity with Australian gas infrastructure and relevant standards (e.g. AS2885, AS4041)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a balance of technical rigour and practical application
