**About the role:** We are seeking dedicated professionals to provide individualised support for children and young people residing in our care.

Our young people have experienced childhood trauma, abuse or neglect and may have a mental health, physical or psychosocial disabilities. We're looking for resilient and committed individuals who can support young people to build skills and strengths within a therapeutic model of care to provide safety and empowerment.

The overall responsibilities of this position are to provide direct person-centred support and care to young people, ensuring their individual needs are met. This includes:

  • supporting young people to develop independent living skills
  • supporting young people to achieve their goals
  • supporting young people to engage in their local communities (through school, community groups etc.)
  • daily care and support, including assisting with household duties
  • transporting young people to and from appointments
  • supporting connection to family and culture

**We are looking for people who fulfil the following criteria:**

  • demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people, and people with a disability
  • have an understanding of strength-based trauma informed practice (or willingness to learn)
  • hold qualifications in Community Services, Residential Care, Welfare or other related areas (Cert IV) (highly regarded)
  • have previous experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma (highly regarded)
  • be willing to work a flexible roster, including weekends, evenings and sleepovers
