The Secondary Learning Support Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of quality learning practices across our educational institution, while also providing individualized support to students with extra learning needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide one-on-one support to students.
- Contribute to creating a productive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that caters to diverse student needs.
- Utilize Assistive Technology and strategies to support students with disabilities or learning needs.
The successful applicant will be a dedicated professional actively involved in their local community, with a passion for quality education and a heart for young people to reach their full potential.
Key Requirements- Special Education Support training or experience as a Learning Assistant or Teacher's Aid in Primary (K-6) or Secondary (7-12).
- A willingness to work towards or have completed a Cert III or Cert IV in Learning Support (Education Support) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge or lived experience of the social, emotional, and educational needs of students with disabilities or learning needs such as ASD, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders, Dyslexia, Irlen's, and Mental Health Challenges.
- Display exceptional pastoral and interpersonal skills.
