We are seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Expert to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality food products with confidence and flair.


About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking food in a dining or catering establishment. They will also inspect and select ingredients, measure and clean food, and monitor food cooking processes to ensure proper cooking and presentation.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepares, seasons, and cooks food in a dining or catering establishment.
  2. Inspects and selects ingredients for cooking.
  3. Measures, cleans, chops, blends, seasons, heats, and cools food.
  4. Monitors food cooking processes to ensure proper cooking and presentation.
  5. Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment and utensils.
  6. Monitors and maintains inventory of food supplies and equipment.
  7. Assists in the development of new recipes and menu items.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.

• High level of quality and ability to understand amount required.

• High level of knife skills and knowledge of which knife to use and when.

• Basic Cooking Skills: Knowledge of cooking methods and when to apply.

• Recipe following: able to read, train, and replicate all dishes.

• Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality.

• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.

• Preparing and cooking food.

• Seasoning food during cooking.

• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes.

• Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities.

• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.

• May plan menus and estimate food requirements.

• May train other kitchen staff and apprentices.
