Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Instrumental Music Specialist to join our dynamic Music department for a period of parental leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting double reed ensembles, tutoring students from beginner to advanced levels, and fostering a standard of excellence in music performance.

About the Role:

This opportunity is available until the beginning of Term 2, 2026, and requires approximately 8 hours of work per week. The successful candidate must have excellent performance skills, communication and organisational abilities, and experience working independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities:

  • Tutoring students from beginner to advanced levels
  • Liaising with the Director of Music and relevant Heads of Department
  • Fostering a standard of excellence in music performance
  • Directing Music Ensembles as required

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be an experienced Oboe specialist familiar with AMEB and VCE syllabi. They will also possess excellent performance skills, gained through training or experience in a wide range of musical styles.
