Instrumental Music Specialist

The Instrumental Music Specialist will play a vital role in providing instrumental programs within the Music curriculum and contributing to the school's broader Music Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Tutor allocated instrumental students from beginner to advanced levels (VCE and Diploma)
  • Liaise with the Director of Music and relevant Heads of Department regarding student progress, repertoire, assessment, performances, ensemble planning and pastoral needs
  • Foster excellence in music performance through examinations, recitals, concerts and other activities
  • Direct Music Ensembles as required by the Director of Music
  • Perform additional duties outlined in the position description
About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced Oboe specialist familiar with AMEB and VCE syllabi. Excellent performance skills, gained through training or experience in various musical styles, are essential.

Strong communication and organisational skills, coupled with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, are critical to success in this role.

A current Working With Children Check (Employee) is mandatory. VIT accreditation is desirable. Keyboard skills are also desirable but not essential.
