Instrumental Music Specialist Role

Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak is a renowned institution in Australia, offering a comprehensive education to its students. The school's academic, cultural, sporting, and pastoral programs are all integral to the holistic development of its students.

The successful candidate will be an experienced conductor of double reed ensembles, with excellent performance skills gained through training or experience in a wide range of musical styles. They will have strong communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tutoring instrumental students from beginner to advanced levels (VCE and Diploma)
  • Liaising with the Director of Music and relevant department heads on student progress, repertoire, student assessment, and performances
  • Fostering excellence in music performance in examinations, recitals, concerts, and other performance activities
  • Directing music ensembles as required by the Director of Music

Requirements:

The successful candidate must be an experienced Oboe specialist familiar with AMEB and VCE syllabi. A current Working With Children Check (WWCC) is mandatory, and Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) accreditation is desirable. Keyboard skills are also desirable but not essential.
