Director, Hub for Apple Platform Innovation

About the Role
The Director, Hub for Apple Platform Innovation, will lead RMIT's collaboration with Apple, integrating industry-leading insights and technology into our curriculum. This role offers the chance to guide transformative education initiatives, develop and deliver industry-aligned courses, and cultivate a thriving environment for research and research translation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish the strategic direction of the Hub, aligning priorities with RMIT's vision.
- Oversee the development of courses, minors, or majors, and research initiatives focused on Apple technology, ensuring real-world application in learning.
- Champion interdisciplinary projects, integrating students from STEM and other fields to innovate within the Apple ecosystem.
- Build and nurture collaborative partnerships across the university and with industry leaders, leveraging Apple technologies across RMIT's educational offerings.
- Coordinate the contributions of academics, mentors, and developers to the Hub's activities.
Requirements:
- Established academic career relevant to the Hub's activities at Level D/E.
- Clear, visionary approach to leading education initiatives that bridge academia and industry.
- Demonstrated strengths in creating effective learning environments for diverse students, including through project-based learning.
- Significant professional standing/leadership experience in Apple design and/or development education.
- Proven ability to foster relationships with industry partners, particularly with large technology companies like Apple, leading to impact.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, teamwork, and organisational skills, with capacity to work collaboratively and collegially to manage complex projects and engage multiple stakeholders.
- Experience leading and managing teams, effectively coordinating resources, processes, systems, people, and policies.
- Capacity to influence positive change within a complex organisational setting.
- Extensive experience in supervising students and staff to deliver outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, and reviewing strategic initiatives.
- Qualifications: relevant postgraduate qualification and relevant industry experience, with membership of associations/accreditations applicable to the role.

Our PhD students and faculty conduct world-leading research in many areas of Computing and Computing applications, including Information Interaction and Information Retrieval, Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing, Data Science and Machine Learning, Recommendation and Big Data Analysis, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Digital Health, and Computer Science Education.
