Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Officer to join our team in Canberra. As a key member of our policy team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of key policy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and community groups.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform policy development and implementation.
  • Write and edit policy briefs, submissions, and other documentation to a high standard.
  • Provide advice and support to senior executives and the Minister on policy matters.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Relevant policy experience within the federal government.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to draft a range of documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills, including time management and prioritisation.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to manage own work flows.
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and liaise with a broad range of stakeholders.
