About the Role
The University of Melbourne seeks a skilled and experienced Administrative Lead to join its Health Service team. Reporting to the Health Service Manager, this key role provides administrative oversight, ensuring the efficient operation of the Health Service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing administrative staff and maintaining effective working relationships
- Leading and mentoring the administrative team to ensure professional service delivery
- Providing broad oversight, supervision, and assistance to agency staff and Administration Assistants
- Ensuring administrative staff engage with patients in a welcoming and empathic manner
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor Degree or Division 2 Nurse or Medical Administration, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook
- Experience as an administrator leader in a medical practice using a computerised appointment and medical management software package
- Ability to manage different personalities and work unsupervised, demonstrating sensitive and empathetic communication with a wide range of people
