Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fitter to join our Maintenance team at Neumann Steel.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintenance, overhaul, and repair of machinery and equipment
  • Accurate reporting of work undertaken and feedback on the condition of all equipment worked on through the Preventative Computer Maintenance Management system
  • Timely maintenance and operation of the preventative maintenance program to ensure equipment and facilities are safe, operational, and robust
  • Prompt response for all requests for mechanical repairs through the Maintenance Requisition system
  • Assistance in maintaining appropriate levels of spare equipment to ensure production reliability and minimize downtime
  • Provision of maintenance fitting/mechanical duties and technical advice as required
  • Detailing of machine components, assemblies, layouts, and performance specifications
  • Contribution to the design/redesign of production machinery and equipment to increase efficiency and reliability to meet production requirements
Key Requirements
  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Certificate III Trade in Fitting and Turning
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience
  • Welding and thermal cutting experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A commitment to safety and well-being
