Principal Structural Engineer Position Overview

This is a key leadership role within our engineering consultancy, focused on the delivery of various projects.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to provide technical guidance and oversight to a team of engineers and modellers.

As a technical authority, you will be responsible for managing project budgets, coordinating and mentoring your team, and ensuring the successful delivery of project design and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical management of projects under your control
  • Coordination and mentoring of your team
  • Preparation and submission of project tenders
  • Management of project budgets
  • Sign off and delivery of project design and documentation
  • Site investigation and supervision
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • A recognised degree in engineering
  • CPEng and PE(Vic)
  • Circa 12+ years of experience working in a consulting environment
  • Extensive experience in the design and analysis of medium to large scale commercial, residential, institutional and industrial buildings
  • A sound knowledge of Australian Building Standards and Codes
  • Proven people management skills
  • Previous experience in key client management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Benefits:

This position offers a competitive salary, with negotiable rates estimated between $140,000 and $180,000 depending on experience.
