Senior Risk and Compliance Professional

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Risk and Compliance professional to join our team in Sydney. As a leading community-focused group operating in the hospitality and leisure sector, we take pride in delivering high-quality experiences and upholding strong community values.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and operational leader to take ownership of building and embedding a proactive risk and compliance culture. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring our organisation-wide risk and compliance framework.

About the Role:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk and compliance framework that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead AML/CTF compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to AUSTRAC obligations and customer due diligence standards.
  • Oversee compliance with liquor, gaming, and club licensing regulations, engaging with relevant authorities such as Liquor & Gaming NSW.
  • Design and embed our first enterprise-wide risk management framework, including risk registers, policies, and reporting structures.
  • Collaborate with IT and Privacy functions to strengthen cyber and information security oversight.
  • Drive internal and external audits, contractor/vendor compliance, and regulatory reporting.
  • Provide key insights and recommendations to senior leaders on compliance trends, emerging risks, and continuous improvement opportunities.
About You:
  • 8-15+ years' experience in risk, compliance, or regulatory roles in clubs, gaming, hospitality, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CTF obligations, AUSTRAC reporting, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in governance, WHS, workers' compensation, and return-to-work obligations.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • High integrity, strong analytical mindset, and hands-on approach.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CAMS, ICA Diploma) and/or tertiary qualifications in Risk, Compliance, Law, Business, or WHS are highly regarded.
