Forensic Clinician

About the Role

This challenging yet rewarding role is part of Corrections Victoria's Forensic Intervention Services (FIS), providing offence-specific, evidence-based screening, assessment and intervention services to support rehabilitation.

As a forensic clinician you will deliver individualised services within the Risk-Needs-Responsivity model working closely with multidisciplinary teams to:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments including risk evaluations.
  • Clinical interviews to develop person-centred rehabilitation pathways.
  • Treatment interventions employing evidence-based assessment tools.
  • Develop treatment plans reports and risk assessment documents for internal and external stakeholders.

Eligibility

To apply you must hold or be eligible for one of the following registrations:

  • General registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Membership eligibility with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
  • Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • A master's degree in psychotherapy and registration with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
  • A master's degree in counselling and membership with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or registration with PACFA.

Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks which may include national police checks and misconduct screening.
