A Typical Day

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different locations. As a field-based role, you'll spend time completing manual field work tasks and testing. This might include logging rock and soil bore holes, undertaking hand augers, or observing machine excavated test pits. On our construction sites, you might be involved in piling, retaining walls, or ground improvement projects.

If you're working in the office, you'll likely be processing logs and soil samples, writing technical reports, and assisting project managers with deliverables. Our range of projects is diverse, and you could find yourself communicating design elements to contractors on a community housing development or carrying out piling supervision and construction phase support on a major infrastructure project.

What You'll Need

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or Earth Science
  • The ability to complete strenuous field work tasks
  • Flexibility to travel when required
  • A valid full-time driving license
  • A passion for working outdoors and an interest in rocks, soil, and geology
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organisation and communication skills, both verbal and written

$80,000 - $110,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
