Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chef to join our team in Batemans Bay. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality menu items as well as catering to special events.

You will contribute to improving the overall quality of food services, undertake allocated shift tasks, and support the team to complete shift work tasks. You will also maintain and develop professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and cooking of standard menu items
  • Catering to special events as per requests
  • Contribute to improving the overall quality of food services
  • Undertake allocated shift tasks and support the team
  • Maintain and develop professional working relationships
  • Provide supervision, support and training to catering employees
  • Act as Head Chef during absence of Senior Head Chef
  • Provide catering assistance to lifestyle centre cafe during periods of leave
  • Ensure quality of catering to consumers while addressing all dietary requirements
  • Maintain stock control for efficient operation of kitchen and dining area
  • Cleanliness of kitchen, dining room and surrounds
  • Maintenance of accreditation standards and HACCP compliance
  • Daily completion of all documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Certificate III in Catering or Commercial Cookery
  • Food Safety Supervisor
  • Knowledge of health and nutritional needs of older people
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • High level knowledge of HACCP and work health safety requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders
  • Qualifications and/or experience in work health and safety
  • Knowledge of Aged Care Accreditation Standards
  • Understanding of Aged Care Act 1997
