Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and cook standard menu items as well as cater to special events according to catering requests.
  2. Contribute to improving the overall quality of food services.
  3. Undertake allocated shift tasks and support the team to complete shift work tasks.
  4. Maintain and develop professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Provide supervision, support and training to catering employees.
  6. Act as Head Chef during the absence of the Senior Head Chef.
  7. Provide catering assistance to the lifestyle centre cafe during periods of leave.
  8. Ensure quality of catering to consumers while addressing all dietary requirements.
  9. Maintain stock control for the efficient operation of kitchen and dining area.
  10. Ensure the kitchen, dining room and surrounds are cleaned to required standards as per daily cleaning schedules.
  11. Ensure maintenance of accreditation standards and HACCP compliance.
  12. Ensure daily completion of all documentation.
  13. Maintain and promote Goodwin's reputation as a quality organisation.
  14. Maintain high level customer service and professionalism.
  15. In conjunction with the Head Chef, manage team performance.
  16. Compliance with organisational policies and procedures, legislation, Work Health and Safety and diversity.
  17. Commitment to quality systems and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
  1. Certificate III in Catering or Commercial Cookery
  2. Food Safety Supervisor
  3. Knowledge of health and nutritional needs of older people.
  4. Ability to work with limited supervision.
  5. High level knowledge of HACCP and work health safety requirements.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders.
  7. Qualifications and experience in work health and safety.
  8. Knowledge of the Aged Care Accreditation Standards.
  9. Understanding of the Aged Care Act 1997.
