As the world transitions to more sustainable energy sources, there is a growing need for innovative exploration techniques. We are seeking a skilled Geochemistry Research Specialist to join our team and contribute to a high-profile research project focused on geochemistry network activities.

Job Description:

We are looking for an exceptional researcher with expertise in geochronology, mineral chemistry, stable and radiogenic isotopes analysis, and experience in geological materials characterisation through instrumental methods. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the mineral separation laboratory and developing commercial services for external stakeholders.

The researcher will collaborate with researchers from Earth and Environmental Sciences, Economic Geology Research Centre (EGRU), and industry partners to conduct research, develop publications, and ensure key research outcomes are achieved in alignment with project timelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A PhD qualification or equivalent in Geology or related disciplines
  • At least 12 months of full-time and relevant work experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in geochronology, mineral chemistry, and stable/radiogenic isotopes analyses
  • Experience in geological materials characterisation through instrumental methods such as EPMA, SEM, LA-ICPMS, XRD etc.
  • Experience in sample preparation for Earth and Environmental scientific applications
  • A proven track record in research publication
