We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Staff Specialist, Forensic Pathology located in Townsville, North Queensland. This is a full-time role (part-time hours considered). Please contact us to discuss your individual requirements regarding Forensic Pathology in Townsville.

This role involves duties of a specialist forensic pathologist, including teaching, research, administration, and serving the community by working with coroners, police, courts, and families, always promoting justice.

Assessment Criteria
  • Knowledge, skills, and professionalism in Forensic Pathology, with objectivity.
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skills and knowledge for training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis, and management.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Medical qualification and tertiary qualification in Pathology (FRCPA or equivalent), registered with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Specialist Pathologist with RCPA recognition in Forensic Pathology.
  • Alternatively, FRCPA or equivalent with specialist registration and RCPA scope in anatomical or general pathology, with evidence of enrollment in the Diploma in Forensic Pathology (DFP) examination.
  • Knowledge of ISO 15189 NATA Medical Laboratories, NPAAC standards, and ongoing accreditation processes across laboratories.

This position offers a base salary plus allowances including Motor Vehicle, Professional Development, Retention and Attraction (50%), Rural Attraction and Retention (5%), and Locality Allowance.
