Heavy Vehicle Mechanic/Mechanical Fitter

This role involves carrying out mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance of vehicles, plant, and mobile equipment. Mechanics will be responsible for ownership of repairs, working efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance of vehicles, including heavy trucks, buses, and construction equipment.
  • Inspections and diagnostic checks to identify issues with vehicle systems.
  • Repairing and replacing damaged or worn parts, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and effective problem-solving.

Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Trade qualification in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a repair and maintenance role.
  • Thorough knowledge of diesel engines, including principles of operation and common issues.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
