Strategic Alumni Engagement Specialist

Macquarie University seeks an Alumni Success/Relationship Officer to establish and foster enduring connections within the alumni community.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of philanthropy and alumni relations, with experience in planning, coordinating, and supporting engagement initiatives and events.
Key Responsibilities:- Engage with alumni through one-on-one meetings, events, and online interactions to nurture lifelong relationships with the university.
- Proactively build alumni engagement to understand their experiences, goals, and interests, and execute suitable activities to promote meaningful connections.
- Support faculty engagement and collaboration with the alumni community to ensure activities align with strategic priorities and revenue generation.
- Respond to and resolve or escalate alumni queries via email and phone.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the annual giving program to enhance alumni giving across all cohorts.
- Support alumni networks, prominent alumni, and reconnection initiatives.
- Coordinate alumni events as required and provide support for large-scale events.
- Perform data analysis, validation, and improvement, as well as execute email campaigns, social media, and alumni outreach.
- Ensure compliance with relevant EEO and WHS regulations and perform any other duties as required.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Cross-cultural awareness, strong communication skills, and understanding.
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and supporting engagement initiatives and events.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) with demonstrated ability to develop engaging connections with diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Experience in contributing to improving systems, processes, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (including Excel) and the internet.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices.
