About the Role

AustralianSuper is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join its Mid Risk Portfolio Strategy and Research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of the Mid Risk portfolio's asset allocation and research strategy, working closely with the Senior Portfolio Manager and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Asset Allocation: Develop and maintain the Mid Risk portfolio's asset allocation framework, including identifying and analyzing key investment issues and making recommendations to senior colleagues.
  • Portfolio Construction: Enhance the long-term Mid Risk portfolio construction process, integrating the outputs of that process into the Mid Risk Mix, and considering the appropriate pricing of risk factors within the portfolio.
  • Research: Conduct research as part of working groups or individually to support long-term strategic decision-making within the Mid Risk asset classes.
Requirements
  • Strong experience in investment banking, investment management, or investment consulting, with specific experience around asset allocation, portfolio construction, or research.
  • Ability to work across the investment department in a team-based environment, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish relationships and engage with senior stakeholders, with a strong understanding of the private markets and infrastructure, real estate, and private credit sectors globally.
  • Expert technical financial modelling skills, with experience in DCF modelling and understanding of how an asset's revenue drivers might impact the role that asset plays in the portfolio.
