Job Title

A Middleware Administrator will support and optimize enterprise middleware platforms with a focus on IBM MQ and Oracle WebSphere.

The role is permanent and offers a hybrid working model, combining office and remote work. Key responsibilities include administering and supporting IBM MQ and Oracle WebSphere across dev, test, and prod environments.

Middleware administrators monitor, configure, and optimize middleware components such as queue managers, channels, and application servers. They also perform patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and security hardening tasks. Troubleshooting and resolving incidents, including on-call support, are additional duties.

Middleware specialists collaborate with application/infrastructure teams on integrations and deployments. They maintain operational documentation, such as SOPs, and contribute to automation using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

To succeed in this role, you'll need strong hands-on experience with IBM MQ and Oracle WebSphere. Knowledge of middleware integration, performance tuning, and security protocols (SSL/TLS) is essential. Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments, along with scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell), is also required.

Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Middleware (desired) and understanding of ITIL/ITSM frameworks (ITIL v4 preferred) will be an added advantage. Australian Citizenship with active baseline security clearance is mandatory for this position.
