Spiritual Care Professional

We are seeking an experienced Spiritual Care Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary healthcare team at Western Health's Sunshine campus. This role entails providing non-sectarian, non-denominational and secular spiritual care to patients, their families/carers and staff members.
Job DescriptionThis is a fixed term position with a duration of 3.75 years. The successful applicant will function as a member of the healthcare team, offering clinical spiritual support to assigned clinical areas. Responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality spiritual care to meet the diverse needs of patients, families and staff.
- Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with patients, families and staff to promote trust and understanding.
The successful candidate will have a recognised tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent qualifications and experience within healthcare. They will also have completed a minimum of one Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or an equivalent program of supervised pastoral education.
Key Qualifications and SkillsTo be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following key skills and qualifications:
- A recognised tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Theology, Counselling or Psychology.
- Experience in hospital-based spiritual care, with the ability to work in high-acuity settings.
- An understanding of clinical spiritual care techniques, ethics and concepts.
- The ability to articulate the differences between spirituality and faith.
- Demonstrated commitment to offering spiritual care that is appropriately inclusive, secular, non-sectarian or faith based.
