Job Title: Financial Counselling Line Team Leader

This is a permanent full-time position based at our Newcastle Moneycare, Hamilton.

We are seeking a values-driven and dedicated individual to oversee the operations of the Moneycare Financial counselling line.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the performance and training of Intake Workers.

This role requires strong leadership, problem solving, decision-making and evaluation skills.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced professional who can provide oversight of phone calls and booking financial counselling appointments.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients over the phone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of phone calls and booking financial counselling appointments.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
  • Oversee training and support of Intake Workers.
  • Liaise with relevant Moneycare Regional Managers where appropriate.
  • Provide Team Management.
  • Review technology needs and consider ways to improve the experience of community members who make contact.

Requirements:

  • At least a Diploma level (or equivalent) in a related field.
  • Understanding of the nature of poverty in Australia and the provision of social services and Emergency Relief services in Australia.
  • A well-developed knowledge base of the principles and practices within social and community service operations.
  • High skills in (or ability to quickly learn) call centre telephone systems and related technology.
  • Good empathetic listening skills and ability to build rapport over the phone.
  • A sound level of experience in delivering case work, or a strong understanding of casework practice, is highly regarded.
  • The ability to encourage, support and be part of a larger team to accomplish TSA mission and goals.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, and form positive collaborative relationships with internal TSA employees and volunteers.
  • Good empathetic listening skills and ability to build rapport over the phone.
  • A high level of computer literacy, including using online tools and digital technology to deliver services to clients.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, decision-making and evaluation skills.
  • A can-do attitude, willingness to go the extra mile.
  • The ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.
