Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and driving our Client Assistance Service. Your primary objective will be to ensure that holistic and client-focused services are delivered to vulnerable clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal services, including specialist legal information, advice, and referrals on various legal matters.
  • Identify and implement appropriate legal pathways for clients and foster relationships with partner referral agencies.
  • Manage a team of professional and administrative staff, overseeing recruitment, performance management, and mentoring.
  • Develop and deliver continuing professional development for staff and contribute to community legal education for external stakeholders.
  • Represent clients in legal matters, prepare cases, and advocate on their behalf.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Knowledge of crime, family, and/or civil law matters, including providing advice, preparation, and representation for clients with complex legal issues.
  • Experience managing a multidisciplinary team, ideally providing legal services to vulnerable clients.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and clients with complex needs.
  • The ability to apply trauma-informed practice principles.
  • A commitment to delivering quality services and achieving outcomes through collaboration.
