Graduate Natural Hazards Planning

This is a dynamic role that provides an opportunity to contribute to the development of natural hazard policy and its implementation in our City Plan. You will work alongside engineers and technical officers to ensure our natural hazard mapping and City Plan requirements remain up-to-date, reducing risk at the interface between communities and the natural environment.

You will be responsible for developing a technically proficient understanding of natural hazard policy in broader land use planning contexts. This includes contributing to the preparation of high-quality reports and briefings on natural hazard policy and land use planning issues. Additionally, you will support the wider team in representing Natural Hazards in various forums and projects as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for graduates who have studied Bachelor of Urban or Environmental Planning or related field of natural hazards planning, disaster planning/resilience, climate change adaptation or similar. The ideal candidate will have a recognised bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completing prior to the commencement of the program in February 2026. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.
