Overview:

A clinical coder is required to analyze medical documentation and assign accurate clinical codes using ICD-10-AM/ACHI classification systems.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting coding issues, making decisions in consultation with Australian Coding Standards and Hospital guidelines, and participating in quality activities.

Key qualifications include a degree in Health Information Management, certificate qualifications in Clinical Classification or Coding, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Undertake research as required to assist in making informed judgments relating to clinical documentation and code assignment.
