Job Title: Senior In-House Commercial Lawyer

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work in-house at Melbourne Business School as a senior commercial lawyer.

About the Role:
  • Provide timely, sound and accurate advice on a range of legal queries as required by the General Counsel
  • Maintain an awareness of legal and regulatory changes that may impact the School
  • Maintain the School's Legal and Governance Hub
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other agreements
  • Manage the School's contract register and contract management framework
  • Protect the commercial interests of the School through sound commercial contract management practices
  • Support maintaining the School's risk management framework
  • Act as the School's Privacy Officer
Key Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of contract law with broad experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Understanding of Privacy law and how it applies to organisations
  • Experience with IP Law, Employment and OHS laws
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to balance organisational and individual needs and priorities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the General Counsel to provide timely and accurate advice on a range of legal queries. You will also be responsible for maintaining the School's Legal and Governance Hub, managing the contract register, and protecting the commercial interests of the School.
