We are seeking a highly skilled Events Project Officer to join our City Activation, Community and Place department.

About the Role

The Events Project Officer plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery and long-term development of various events across Penrith. This includes flagship, regional, and community celebrations, as well as events-related projects, policy, and process improvements.

This is a generalist role that requires adaptability and flexibility, with changing portfolios over time. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering events, marketing, promotion, and logistics in partnership with other stakeholders.

In this role, you will lead the administration of Council's local events grant program and contribute to other event-related projects as directed by the Events Lead and Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver events from conception to execution, including budget establishment and planning
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, suppliers, and Council staff
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation
  • Liaise with internal teams to coordinate event logistics and resources
  • Analyze event outcomes and provide insights for future event planning
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in events, marketing, arts management, business, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in event management, with a proven track record of delivering successful events
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • A current Class C driver's license

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,063.00 - $104,251.00 per annum, plus 11.5% Superannuation.
