As a Design Director, Highways, you will possess a strong background in highway design, project management, and leadership. You will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, and a strong ability to lead and mentor a team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of engineers and designers in the development of highways design projects.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Review and approve design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Coordinate with other internal teams and external contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Identify and mitigate risks throughout the design process.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and meeting and exceeding delivery requirements.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team of professionals to deliver exceptional service.
- Excellent knowledge of project management, business management systems and procedures, and financial systems.
- Strong client engagement and business development experience would be advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Highways Design Manager or similar role, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in highway design.
- In-depth knowledge of highway design principles, standards, and best practices.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software and tools.
