Procurement Category Specialist Job Description

The Procurement Category Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving business value through strategic sourcing and category management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct spend reviews to identify areas of improvement and implement sourcing strategies to maximize value.
  • Lead key supplier negotiations to secure favorable agreements and drive cost savings.
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies to optimize procurement processes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Manage contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring timely execution and effective management.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Operations teams to implement projects and improve overall efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement category management, preferably within hospitality, FMCG, or grocery industries.
  • Strong analytical skills, advanced MS-Excel skills, and excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically over a 3-5 year time frame, multi-task across multiple projects, and work in a mature S&OP environment.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ), great interpersonal, and communication skills to manage relationships both internally and externally.
