Mental Health Specialist
Role DescriptionThe School-Link Mental Health Specialist plays a vital role in connecting health and education to support the wellbeing of children and young people. This position focuses on early intervention, care planning, and collaborative mental health support within schools.
Key Responsibilities- Delivering specialist mental health care in school settings
- Supporting early identification & referral of at-risk students
- Leading suicide prevention & complex behaviour management
- Providing clinical education, consultation & service planning
- Contributing to research, policy, and model of care development
- Demonstrated clinical experience in working with children/youth in mental health setting or educational setting
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience in working with schools
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across professions and services
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of work within deadlines
- Demonstrated knowledge of the concepts of promotion, prevention, early intervention and evidence-based practice in mental health
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with children, young people and carers/families with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health
- Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
